William Ralph

William August Ralph “Augie”, 55 of Beach Park Illinois passed away August 19, 2021, at NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital.
He was born September 3, 1965 to Kenneth Ralph Sr. and George Ann (Schumacher) Ralph.
Augie was a graduate of Zion Community High School. Augie married Lori Vander Vere September 22nd, 1984. Augie achieved his Master Captain’s 100 gross tons license in 1983 and was a successful charter boat captain for 37 years on Lake Michigan. Augie with his wife Lori are the owners of the Salmon Stop in Waukegan and Fishfood Charters out of Waukegan Harbor. Augie was a great mentor to the young people that he interacted with at the shop and the boat.
In addition to fishing Augie enjoyed traveling with Lori to numerous saltwater locations where they both enjoyed fishing on the ocean. Augie was also a lover of dogs both big and small, always making a space in the house for the many rescues he and Lori saved. He had a special place in his heart for Cupcake and Abby. He also had numerous hobbies which included fishing tournaments for big lake trout, fishing swap meets, and smoked the very best lake trout. He was a member of Anchor & Ark 1027 Masonic Lodge serving as worshipful master in 2000. He was also a dedicated Shriner and made it a point to work with the Children’s Home and Children’s Hospital.
Augie was a devoted husband, son, brother and uncle who loved his family deeply.
Survivors include his wife of almost 37 years, Lori Ralph, Father Kenneth Ralph Sr., Mother George Ann Vander Vere, Stepfather Mark Vander Vere, Brother Kenneth Ralph Jr., Nieces Erin and Lauren Ralph and Great Nephew Henry Ridge. Augie had many close friends that he would call family.

His visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan, IL 60085. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m at the funeral home as well. Family and Friends to gather after for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at The Waukegan Masonic Temple, 127 N. Genesee St. Waukegan, IL 60085, Entrance to the lodge for those who can do stairs is on the westside of the building in the south city parking lot at corner of Clayton and Sheridan Rd. Those that cannot enter by stairs would enter from Genesse side.
