Marilyn Sue Velez, 78, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024.
She was born November 1, 1945 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and has been a long time area resident.
Marilyn worked at Classic Auto Group in Waukegan for over 40 years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, always took care of others and put others needs first before herself.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alvar Velez; son, Shawn (Jennibeth) Velez; daughter/granddaughter, Sherina Velez; grandchildren, great grandchildren, Ysabel Velez, Gabriel Velez, Bella Velez, Sebastian Velez; sister, Norma Smith; half sisters, Lucy Henson, Helen Decker and half brother, Norman Perkins.
Marilyn is preceded in death by daughter, Shelley Velez; mother, Mary Glowienkie; father, Roy Perkins; stepfather, Richard Glowienkie and sister, Nancy.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Interment will be private.
