Sandra Hampson

Sandra "Sandy" Helen (Benson) Hampson, 84, passed on March 17, 2026 in Waukegan, IL. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Sandy was born November 24, 1941, in Waukegan, IL, to parents Montell and Saima Benson, and was a 1959 graduate of Waukegan High School. She married her late husband, Robert "Bob" Hampson, on May 20, 1961. at St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan, IL. They had four children enjoyed more than 20 years of retirement in Spring Hill, FL.

Sandy was an enthusiastic artist and enjoyed taking classes at College of Lake County. favorite mediums were pastels and pottery.

Sandy is survived by her four children: Edward Hampson of FL; Andrew Hampson (Grace) of Waukegan, IL; Anna Hampson of Chicago, IL; and Suzanne Frueh (Thomas) of Asheville, McKenna, Amelia, and Bazil; great grandchildren Maxwell, James, Anthony, and Guy and her brother, Alan Benson, and sister, Nancy (Benson) Lewis. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty (Benson) Guerin, and great-granddaughter, Saima Jane Bohn.

Private services will be held at a later date to celebrate a life well lived.
