Ruben Castaneda

Ruben Castañeda, 44, of Beach Park passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 8, 1973 in Mexico State, Mexico and came to the Waukegan area 30 years ago at the age 14.
Ruben was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park.
He was an avid golfer and a great volunteer soccer coach with AYSO 980 in Zion, IL.
Ruben had an entrepreneurial spirit and was daring at everything he did.
He was full of life and had an ease to talk to anyone from all walks of life. He would befriend many people he interacted, and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Everything he did was for his family – He was a loving husband, and an exceptional father.
Ruben worked as a shop foreman with Mattson-Witt in Barrington for 23 years as a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machinist.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Gloria (nee Nieto) Castañeda; sons, Jair M. Castañeda and Diego A. Castañeda; mother, Teresa Hernandez of Waukegan; brother, Martin Castañeda of Waukegan; sisters, Fabiola (Ruben) Avila of Posen, IL, Adriana Morales of Wadsworth, Rubicelia Castañeda of Kenosha, Ana K. Rodriguez of Waukegan, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruben is preceded in death by his father Moises Castañeda.
Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Our Lady of Humility Church 10655 Wadsworth Rd. Beach Park. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Waukegan. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME 408 N. Sheridan Rd Waukegan.
