Marlyn Jesse

Marlyn Jesse, age 83, of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by her children.

Marlyn was born on July 8, 1941, in Waukegan, IL to Edward and Bette (nee Tratner) Schuman.

She graduated from Waukegan High School in 1959. Marlyn worked at Selective Service for the Federal Government for 25+ years before retiring. After her retirement Marlyn enjoyed spending time watching old black-and-white movies, playing cards with friends, playing word games, and arts and crafts. She loved to cook, and no one ever went hungry in her house. Marlyn also enjoyed reminiscing about days gone by and sharing stories from long ago. She would always say, “do you remember?…”.

Marlyn is survived by daughter, Jamie Jesse and son John Jesse. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Orloff.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Bette Schuman, brother-in-law Ronald Orloff, along with many other family members.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Am Echod Jewish Cemetery, 3050 Grand Ave, Waukegan, IL. with Rabbi Bonnie Margulis officiating.
