Keith A. Hermanson

Keith A Hermanson died unexpectedly Friday, January 13th, 2023. He was 56 years old. Keith was born April 20, 1966 in Waukegan, IL where he would spend the majority of his life. He attended Waukegan East Highschool, graduating in 1984. Keith was part of the baseball team there and had a passion for sports.

In 1987, he began his 35+ year career at Waukegan's Ann M Kiley Center, A State of Illinois Human Services Center for intellectually challenged adults. During his tenure he served as a direct care technician, retiring as of March of 2022 as an activity therapist.

Keith was successful at so many things. An avid deer hunter, fisherman, painter, handyman, cook and baker. Skills he had acquired and developed with lessons from both his father and grandfather.

Keith had boundless interest and energy and wore many hats in his life. Karaoke singer, demolition derby driver, softball player and animal lover. His sense of humor was unequalled by anyone... laugh out loud, sometimes twisted and famously inappropriate. If you knew him, he'd leave you smiling.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard "Bud" and Sandy Hermanson; his grandparents Bernard and Dorothy Hermanson and several of his beloved pets whom he loved and cherished, throughout his life. Keith leaves behind his loving fiancée Dawn Gonyo, his aunt Bernis Underwood and cousin Ray Underwood. He also leaves behind his cousins Mark Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Michael Johnson and Chris Johnson from his mother's side. Many friends and most of all our new Puppy Casper! A celebration of life is currently being planned out and will be announced at a later time.
