James Thomas "Jimmy" Corrigan
James Thomas "Jimmy" Corrigan, a lifelong resident of Waukegan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the age of 46.
Born on September 13, 1979, in Waukegan, Jimmy was a proud graduate of Waukegan High School. Throughout his life, he worked a variety of jobs, including as a house attendant at Dotty's, but many knew him best from his years as a delivery driver at the beloved Quonset Pizza. Jimmy genuinely enjoyed seeing familiar faces, whether greeting customers at the restaurant or delivering one of Quonset's legendary pizzas to friends, neighbors, and acquaintances throughout the community.
Jimmy's quiet, gentle nature was one of his greatest gifts. To those who loved him most, he was their "Gentle Giant" and to his cousins, he was affectionately known as "Corg" He had an unmistakable love for his hometown and rarely missed the opportunity to watch—and enthusiastically comment on—the happenings of the Waukegan City Council meetings. Family meant everything to Jimmy, and one of the highlights of every year was attending the annual Sivia Cousins Christmas gathering, where he was happiest surrounded by the people he loved most.
Jimmy had a special way of staying connected with everyone. His frequent text messages and videos became something family and friends looked forward to, whether he was reporting traffic delays, weather updates, city council happenings, or some other random—but in Jimmy's mind—absolutely essential piece of information. They were uniquely him, and they will be missed more than words can express.
To know Jimmy was to have a friend. His kindness, gentle spirit, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He never sought attention for himself and was always willing to put others first. Even in passing, Jimmy's generous nature continued, as he became a Gift of Hope donor, giving others the opportunity for renewed life through organ and tissue donation.
Jimmy will be deeply missed by his stepmother, Mary Corrigan; his sisters, Christine Corrigan and Erika Corrigan; his aunts and uncles, Mike Sivia, Pat Styx, Joe (Maureen) Sivia, Sue (Michael) Dieck, Tom (Kathy) Sivia, Jim (Penny) Sivia, Margaret (Craig Peterson) Sivia, John (Terry) Sivia, and Dan (Keith Scott) Sivia; and by his beloved cousins, Sean and Eric Styx, Kerry and Kevin Sivia, Ryan (Tammy) Dolence, Christopher Dolence, William (Emily) Sivia, Erin (Scott) Rehberg, Jimmy (Jessica) Sivia, Anna (Tom) Rigwood, Michelle Krotowski, Brian Sivia, Adam Sivia, David Sivia, and Emily Sivia. He is also survived by countless second cousins, extended family members, and friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Kathy Sivia Corrigan; his father, Tom Corrigan; his brother, Michael Corrigan; and, most recently, his cherished cousin, Katrina Carter, with whom he shared an especially close bond.
Though Jimmy's time with us was far too short, his gentle heart, quiet humor, unwavering kindness, and sincere friendship touched countless lives. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the simple acts of kindness that remind us of the way he chose to live his life.
