Donald Kennedy

Donald Kennedy, 94, of Waukegan passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst.
He was born on January 26, 1930, in Savannah, Georgia and was a long time Waukegan resident.
Don was an avid golfer and spent his time at Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan and even in his final days was still adamant about playing 18 more holes. He retired after many years of service from Outboard Marine Corporation and enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his wife and the love of his life, Marigene.
He is survived by his daughter, Terri (Robert) Grasty; son, Chris Kennedy; granddaughters, Sarah (Ben) Grasty-Prueitt, Jessica Grasty; also, by many nieces and nephews, Susan (Tyson) Hoffman, James (Hilary) Rickher, Barbara (Jeffrey) Mondeik, Michael Rickher; grand-nieces Sasha & Apolonia Arteaga and Aleksandra Rickher, grand-nephew, CJ Rickher, as well as countless other close family and friends. And a special thanks to Fred, Dante, Heidi and Alex at Victory Lakes for their care and kindness.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Marigene Kennedy; parents, Tilden and Georgia Kennedy; sisters, Norma (Andy) Anderson, Elizabeth (Frank) Semken; brother Deweese (Louise) Bryant.
Celebration of life will be from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Bonnie Brook Golf Course 2800 N. Lewis Ave. Waukegan. Interment will be private for the family at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago.
In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
