Alex Rivera

William Alexis Rivera, born March 26, 1971, of Puerto Rican decent passed away January 9, 2023. William truly made the most of life through simple pleasures; he loved cooking his favorite Puerto Rican dishes, dancing, and listening to old school salsa. He had the most energetic personality with a charismatic smile and radiant spirit that would lighten up the entire room. He was a very loving, one-of-a-kind, unafraid individual that would do anything to put a smile on your face.

If William wasn’t building, fixing, or racing cars you can find him enjoying quality time with family and friends. He always found a friend in anyone, and this is why a lot of his friends became his family. His love for his family was everything, he loved everyone unconditionally and unapologetically with no restrictions or regrets. The love William had for his children and grandchildren was enormous. He loved each and every one of them equally yet differently.

He is survived by his mother Candida Silva; 9 children Erika J. Rivera, Xiomara M. Hernandez, William A. Rivera Jr., Dezire Ramos, Victor A. Ramirez-Perez Rivera, Junior M. Rivera, Alyssa A. Rivera, and Nicolas A. Rivera:13 grandchildren; 2 siblings Monica Marie Rivera and Celines Rivera; grandfather Francisco Silva; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father William Rivera; grandfather Luis Rivera; grandmothers Luz Maria Rosario and Cruz Baez; great grandparents Dionisio Rosario and Juana Salgado; uncle Angel L. Rivera; and cousin Sergio J. Berrios.

His visitation will be held Friday, January 20th, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Peterson and Patch Funeral Home of Waukegan, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan, IL 60085. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 21st, 2023, at 10:00 am at Holy Family church, 450 Keller Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery, in Libertyville, IL.
